what we did
ELGA LabWater is a subsidiary of Veolia Water, a world leader in water treatment. It manufactures and delivers water purification systems for research, science, clinical and healthcare environments.
multi-lingual website
The ELGA LabWater website, launched in early 2010, is a true multi-lingual site, being delivered in English, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish.
The site has full encoding for UTF-8 Unicode, which is necessary for the 4-byte character sets of Japanese and Chinese.
Content is synchronized across the various language versions of equivalent pages. In addition, the occasional phrases which are used on the site, such as "Search Results", are also translated, so that visitors achieve a truly localized experience.
The site auto-detects the visitor's language based on browser settings, and directs the visitor to the home page in his or her natural language if possible.
map-based worldwide distributor finder
The site features a "Your local contact" page, an interactive HTML5 map navigation tool.
This is a friendly experience for the visitor, but also a system which is easy to manage.
Although ELGA has a presence in over 100 countries, the data for this system - the addresses of the Distributors - is stored in Tribiq CMS, so administrators can easily edit distributors' location data.
